Raise a Glass, Raise the Roof: Wasserhund Brewing Partners with ForKids

We’re excited to welcome Wasserhund Brewing to our first-ever Raise the Roof Community Care Campaign, happening May 1–15, 2026, during National Affordable Housing Month. 

“At Wasserhund, family and community are at the heart of everything we do,” said co-owner Christine Holley. “As a locally owned business with kids of our own, supporting ForKids and their mission to break the cycle of homelessness for families in our community is deeply meaningful to our team. Every child deserves stability, opportunity and a safe place to call home.”

“We’re especially excited to be part of Raise the Roof because it brings people together in such a tangible way, enjoying a meal or a beer while directly impacting local families,” said co-owner Aaron Holley. “Hosting this fundraiser at our new Norfolk location makes it even more special. We’re proud to continue putting down roots in Norfolk while helping strengthen the community around us.”

We invite businesses, schools, religious organizations and community groups to join us in breaking the cycle of homelessness and poverty for families and children in Hampton Roads. Our goal is to raise $50,000 through the Raise the Roof community fundraiser!

About Raise the Roof

Why It Matters 

Housing instability affects every part of a child’s life, from education and health to emotional well-being. Funds raised through Raise the Roof directly support ForKids’ core services, including housing stabilization, emergency response and long-term support that helps families break the cycle of homelessness and poverty. 

Why May? 

Raise the Roof takes place during National Affordable Housing Month, a time dedicated to elevating the importance of safe, affordable housing and collective action to strengthen housing security across the region.

• Register a team. (It’s free and easy!) 
• Fundraise creatively and spread the word. 
• Earn points for dollars raised and activities hosted. 
• Celebrate together at the Rock Out Rally.
• Compete for prizes across team categories.
