Laughter, music, and the excitement of the holiday season filled the room as ForKids families recently gathered in Sokol Pace, for an afternoon of food, games, and a visit from a VIP couple just in from the North Pole.

The annual holiday party, hosted by Minton & Roberson (M&R) and Warwick Mechanical Group brought ForKids families, staff, and volunteers together to celebrate the season and the power of community.

“Celebrating the holidays in a joyful, welcoming environment means so much to our families and our staff,” said Will White, ForKids Shelter Program Manager. “Our partnership with the M&R team makes these moments possible. Our shared commitment allows families to relax, laugh, and create positive memories together, which is incredibly meaningful and something our families will carry with them long after the season ends.”

The event reflects a broader partnership between M&R and ForKids that has grown over several years.

Through hands-on volunteering, financial support, and annual celebrations such as the holiday party, the company and its employees have played an active role in supporting ForKids families, while strengthening connections among staff, volunteers, and the community.

“We started supporting ForKids in 2023 when we reached out about sponsoring a holiday party,” said Kate Pasaylon, Director of Administration and Human Resources at Minton & Roberson. “Serving our community is at the forefront of our values, and we wanted to give our employees the opportunity to volunteer and give back. Each year, we try to build on the experience, and it has been rewarding to see the relationships that have grown between our team and ForKids.”

The party featured food, games, and a special visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus. The celebration was especially meaningful this year, as the invitation was extended to include families participating in ForKids’ Economic Mobility program and alumni families.

In all, 30 families, representing 104 individuals, came together to celebrate.

In addition to hosting the holiday party, M&R has encouraged employees to volunteer at ForKids’ annual Field Day fundraiser and participate in the agency’s Halloween Trunk-or-Treat. The company also has provided financial support.

“Volunteers are truly the heart of ForKids, and partners like M&R make it possible for us to do what we do,” said Karen Sekulski, ForKids Volunteer Engagement Manager. “When companies invest their time, talents, and resources, it sends a powerful message to our families that the community cares. Their employees do not just show up once, they stay engaged, build relationships, and make a real difference for the families we serve.”
