ForKids is pleased to announce the appointment of five new members to its board of directors: Vaibhav Dani, Natalie Feldman, MD, Mary Hensley, Katie Petrillo and Bob Roth.
Together, these community leaders bring decades of experience in technology, healthcare, energy, public service and financial planning to help advance ForKids’ efforts to break the cycle of homelessness and poverty for families and children in southeastern Virginia.
“We’re adding amazing talent to an already extraordinary board,” said ForKids CEO Thaler McCormick. “Our board is authentically diverse — in geography, experience, perspective, background and talent — but the glue that holds this remarkable group together is genuine care for the families in our community. That commitment is the secret sauce that makes it all work, and we’re thrilled to welcome these new members.”
The new members of the ForKids board of directors are:
Vaibhav Dani is chief executive officer of MAP Communications, one of North America’s largest answering and virtual receptionist service providers. With more than two decades of experience in technology, operations and executive leadership, he focuses on using emerging technology to solve real-world challenges and has become a thought leader at the intersection of artificial intelligence, business and ethics. In 2025, he brought this expertise to ForKids to help implement an AI assistant designed to improve efficiency and customer service for the Housing Crisis Hotline. He lives in Chesapeake with his wife and son.
Natalie Feldman, MD serves as a medical director for Medicare at Elevance Health, where she helps oversee clinical strategy and medical management for Medicare programs. Previously, she served as plan performance medical director at Anthem Inc. and practiced with Emergency Physicians of Tidewater in Virginia. Feldman brings extensive experience in clinical operations, health care management and quality improvement, with a focus on improving outcomes and supporting evidence-based care. She lives in Norfolk and is the mother of three children.
Mary Hensley is an energy industry executive and entrepreneur who co-founded Enspire Energy, a women-owned natural gas supplier serving the Mid-Atlantic. After 28 years in the natural gas industry, she sold the company and retired in May 2026. Hensley now focuses on community service, including her work with the Suffolk Foundation, where she chairs its Women’s Impact Fund, and her children’s PTA. She lives in Suffolk with her husband and two sons and enjoys traveling, scuba diving and reading.
Katie Petrillo is a principal program manager at Microsoft and a technology and public-sector leader with experience helping organizations navigate complex change and achieve mission-driven outcomes. Through leadership roles at Microsoft, the Department of Defense and the U.S. Navy, she brings expertise in strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, policy analytics and technology transformation. Petrillo and her husband, Nick, are longtime ForKids supporters and proud Norfolk residents with two adult sons. She is committed to supporting local families and children and raising the bar in the ForKids Art Auction costume contest each year.
Bob Roth is founder and private wealth adviser of The Roth Financial Group, a multigenerational wealth management and financial planning practice. Since beginning his career in 1982, Roth has been recognized by Forbes as a Top Financial Security Professional and is an Accredited Estate Planner, Chartered Financial Consultant and Chartered Life Underwriter. He is proud to work alongside his son, Alex, continuing the firm’s commitment to serving clients across generations. Roth and his wife, Nikki, live in Virginia Beach and have been enthusiastic ForKids supporters since attending their first Art Auction in 2023.
