On March 21st, 2026, the 25th Annual ForKids Art Auction, LEGENDARY, raised $2.3 million to further our work to lift children and families out of homelessness and poverty.
Clad as Greek Gods and legendary heroes of myth and memory, our champions gathered to feast and buy "priceless" children’s artwork with whimsical names like "Be More Kinder" and "Dreams from the Top Bunk."

Our Auction History
From Humble Beginnings to Unprecedented Impact
Our first Children’s Art Auction in the spring of 2002 was a memorable and magical night, complete with 60-mile-an-hour winds, a torrential downpour, and intense bidding wars over artwork with names “Chicken Dance,” "Rainbow Turkey” and “Bacon and Balance.” Thanks to the amazing commitment and support of those who showed up that evening, the auction, which cost our team merely $600 to pull off, raised an astounding $21,000, allowing ForKids to keep our services flowing for families during a critical time.
Each spring, we have the chance to experience that sense of community magic all over again – but in drier conditions and with higher stakes! Our 2026 Children’s Art Auction raised $2.3 million, allowing ForKids to provide more services to more families and more children in Southeastern Virginia, with a greater impact than ever before.
