CHILDREN'S ART AUCTION
Just One Night Changes Hundreds of Families’ Lives
The ForKids Children’s Art Auction raises more than
of our annual fundraising goal – in a single night!
Our Auction History
Our first Children’s Art Auction in the spring of 2002 was a memorable and magical night, complete with 60-mile-an-hour winds, a torrential downpour, and intense bidding wars over artwork with names “Chicken Dance,” "Rainbow Turkey” and “Bacon and Balance.” Thanks to the amazing commitment and support of those who showed up that evening, the auction, which cost our team merely $600 to pull off, raised an astounding $21,000, allowing ForKids to keep our services flowing for families during a critical time.
Each spring, we have the chance to experience that sense of community magic all over again – but in drier conditions and with higher stakes! Our 2024 Children’s Art Auction raised more than $1.7 million, allowing ForKids to provide more services to more families and more children in Southeastern Virginia, with a greater impact than ever before.

Blazing New Frontiers
On March 22nd, 2025, the 24th annual ForKids Art Auction, Blazing New Frontiers, will raise $1.8 million to support our mission to end family homelessness in our community. ForKids friends will don Western theme costumes or swanky Sedona attire to forge new frontiers for our children. With determination and heart, guests will place bids on priceless children’s artwork, featuring whimsical pieces like "Bob the Porcupine" and "Feathers and Fries."
